Where do I go to eat seafood in Lisbon?

By Irene Local November 27, 2016

Hi!

I just moved here one month ago, and have not had time to really explore restaurants yet. My dad is visiting me and I want to take him to eat seafood, but I am scared I will end up taking him to some over-priced tourist trap. So please, where do you go to eat seafood in Lisbon?

Thanks!

well, one of the best has become very touristic already, with frequent and long queues: "O Ramiro", at Avenida Almirante Reis (in Martim Moniz/Intendente).
But there are more options:

- "Isco", at Rua do Almada, in Bica
- "SeaMe", at Rua do Loreto, Bairro Alto
- "Edmundo", at Estrada de Benfica
- "Marquês de Palma", at Rua José Afonso, near Sete Rios and Laranjeiras
- "Gambrinus", in Rossio (pricey)
- "Ribadouro", in the middle of Avenida da Liberdade

Hi Irene,
Ramiro, in Av. Almirante Reis, would be the obvious choice. Food is great, although they do not accept reservations and usually you will have to queue.
Café-IN, by the river in Av. Brasília, Pavilhão Nascente 311, is also a good choice in my opinion. Maybe a bit too overpriced but sea food is really good quality there.

Cheers, Joao

If you have transport you eat well in Peniche, south off Lisbon near Setubal, and there also.

Hey Irene!
Most of the hype seafood restaurants in Lisbon (center) are extremely expensive, and honestly you will not eat a big portion of food 😞
Last time I hate seafood I had this great surprise!
"Dom Pepe" - Go by train till Parede (Train line ends at cascais) 25 minutes or by car 15minutes.
The view is just amazing and you will have a range of seafood Omg!
All you can eat for 25euros per person. Its just beautiful watching the sunset there. Only one Advise, Irene, you should have appetite cause is plenty of Seafood.Good Luck!

Hi,

For those of you venturing into restaurants where the menu is only in Portuguese https://beportugal.com/fish-and-seafood-in-portugal/

Take a ride to Cascais and hop off in Parede: Eduardo das Conquilhas, 30m from the train station!
Always open, except mondays, best time is between mealtimes. Locals will queue up for dinner!

Hi

All cervejarias have seafood.
Portugalia (they have lots of cervejarias in Lisbon, two next to the river Tejo), Trindade, Ribadouro, Eduardo das Conquilhas in Parede next to Lisbon, the most touristic one is Ramiro
There are also restaurants with seafood, specilaly those next to the ocean in Cascais, Sesimbra, Ericeira, but those places are out of Lisbon, and I don't know if you have a car.
Enjoy

Thanks for all the great answers here! Great community! We went to Ramiros in the end. I'm not overly impressed by the food, but it was totally okey. (I've eaten so much seafood in my life so it's maybe just hard to please me). I'll keep exploring your tips, and let you know which one becomes my favorite. Thanks again!
