90 minutes of fun
On my recent visit to Lisbon with our football team (16 adults), I organized a Sitgo tour of Alfama's old town. 11 of us presented for this excursion on a lovely Sunday morning in late March. I had booked on line and the Sitgo guys were very comfortable as I could not give exact numbers. We were given a 10 minute training slot and by 1130 we were accompanied by our guide Pepe and our cameraman Goncalo. It was the best fun trip I had experienced for some time while we wondered about the old town. Pepe was excellent with all his knowledge of Lisbon and we had time for a quick Chocolate and Liquor stop on our way. The fun was great and we even sang some song verses as we enjoyed our sitways. Basically just to explain a bit about the sitway these are a form of Sedgeways but here you are in a sitting position. They are easy to get used too and you will be up and running in no time. The highest speed is about 16 miles per hour and the hills of the old town were easily negotiated as we made our way to the gates of the street. George's castle. Finally, I don't think this would work without the excellent input from our Sitgo, Pepe and Gonçalo guides, who kept the whole 90 minutes relaxed and enjoyable and for € 25 of money well spent. Thank you guys The highest speed is about 16 miles per hour and the hills of the old town were easily negotiated as we made our way to the gates of the street. George's castle. Far from walking! Wheels are here to stay .. a truly multi-sensory experience!
We are a family of 4 and booked with SitGo weeks before arriving in Portugal; a decision we are so happy to have made. Ieda & John are wonderful guides; They kept us in their sights at all times of safety and connecting us every step of the way! Although the meeting was postponed to an unexpected road closure and they had to drive their van to us on a different route, we were able to keep each other posted via Wi-Fi, so you'd better have it on your phone. We had a lot of family and group fun with the guides. They are very knowledgeable with their history of places we stop at. Our only regret is that we no longer had time to walk in the Alfama / Fado district, especially the church. This is not the guides fault, but my just as instead of checking the interior of the church, I would have preferred to check out a pottery shop that we passed before arriving at the church :). . . We totally recommend this tour to everyone so it is very valuable for your time and money. We do not feel discomfort or pain throughout the next day either. . . a truly wonderful way to see parts of Lisbon and we want to repeat another SitGo experience in another city for sure! ! ! You go guys, you have a good product there! !

Best Horseback and General Tour without a doubt
say a few. Equally important is the Paulo Guide and the Health of these horses. Before coming to Paul, I will just say that these horses were the healthiest horses from a visual and performative standpoint. That meant a lot to us because we are animal lovers.
Now Paulo! This man is genuine and considerate. He takes care of you all day and makes sure you have a super rewarding experience. The guy knows how to take care of people. He has a wealth of history and takes time to take you to a local market or two for some of the best-known road secrets. We both grabbed a pair of handmade shoes. Paul even pulled a few ropes and got us into a local food spot after the ride for some amazing fresh homestyle seafood. This was the best ride I've ever been anywhere, and Paul is the reason for that. Its crazy if you book with anyone else!

PS The beach you go to is like a private paradise. No joke

Five stars for sure!
The tour far exceeded my expectations. The tour guide was knowledgeable, lively and very passionate about food and the neighborhood. I loved the area and different places she showed us and the food we ate. Part of our group met up again the next evening for dinner at the Mozambican restaurant. I definitely recommend the tour!

I took the market tour and cooking class with Isabel as the Chef, and Luis, an owner, as a tour guide and host. The class and tour had 3 other students, so the size was ideal. Each student had individual attention, and just enough cooking to keep us all occupied without feeling stressed. The Mercardo da Ribeira was quite the sight to behold! A huge market with fish, meat, breads, fruits vegetables, etc. The fish mongers kept everyone entertained with their knife skills. In addition, there is a giant "food court" attached to the market, where we stopped for refreshment (pastel de Nata) before heading back to the cooking school to make a delicious 4-course lunch using the ingredients we just purchased, including squid, sausage made with pork fat and flour (used in an egg dish), chicken in a pot, and potatoes, rice, tomato, and a very unique and tasty local sweet. All the while, Isabel and Luis kept us well informed of local ingredients, including the freshest fish, while Luis kept our wine glasses full of local wines. We also tried 4 types of olive oil, made in Portugal of course, and the conversation flowed very nicely. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and the food and the company, and plan to take the pastry class as soon as they are settled into their new location.

We booked the Campo de Ourique tour because we wanted something off the beaten track. We did not want to go to the usual tourist traps and learn about the things we could learn about in the guidebooks. We were not disappointed. Filipa took us to the market where we saw raw ingredients; we ate appetizers from octopus salad to game croquettes; we tasted wines; we had "the best chocolate cake in the world" (trademarked) and amazing custard pastries. The best thing about this tour was that it was done in a relaxed, unhurried, and personal manner--like old friends meeting to chat while walking around town. Filipa also gave us great information about other parts of town/restaurants/stores to visit that we followed. Here, too, we were not disappointed. We kept her map as a constant reference throughout our trip. This tour was a wonderful experience, and we were very thankful that Filipa helped us to experience Lisbon more like a native than a tourist. Do this tour first.

Local guide, local knowlege – passionate about local culture, food and history
We were lucky to have Joao take a couple of Australians to see Tapada and Mafra for a full day outing. We were picked up without fuss at out Lisbon apartment and we must say he drove very responsibly so we felt very much at ease!

As well as the main attractions Joao had some quirky little places to drop by to add to the experience.

We had a sumptuous "typical' lunch at a place we would never have tracked down ourselves. Our main aim was to see the Palace at Mafra (the name-sake of my hometown Maffra in Australia) which is a remarkable building, again with its own character and stories.

Joao had been an excellent and attentive host with broad interests and knowledge and we will look forward to more adventures, meals and story sharing with him.

I went with my father on this tour. It was amazing! For anyone who is still doubting whether they should do this tour or not: do it!! This tour shows you all the cultural aspects of the hidden treasures in Lisbon. Some history, laughs, room for questions.. And especially the food. It was really good. Really good quality! The tour operators are such sweet people. I am a vegetarian, and immediately after I booked the tour I got a mail from Pedro. He asked me what I do eat and what I don't, so they could make a menu for me. In total we got 6 different stops. They were all very unique. I'm not going to tell all the secrets, for that you should go on the tour.
Thank you, Taste of Lisboa! It was a pleasure meeting you!

Fantastic Day
We were met at the campground entrance by John. Short introductions and off we went. We were surprised but very pleased that we would be the only 2 on the tour.
Although it was a little rainy and foggy, the tour couldn’t have been any better. We were able to get a look at Sintra in a very special way because of John and his knowledge and dedication to his job.
What we were expecting was to see some sites. What we got was far more than that.
We would rate this tour as one of the best during our long stay in Spain and Portugal.
And for your tour guide John, WOW. He was way beyond what we expected. Very personal and fun guy to have as a guide.
Good job.

I bought a market tour and cooking class for my partner as a birthday present for while we were in Lisbon and I was really pleased I made this choice. We had a really great day, seeing the market from the view of people who lived in the city and learning to cook 4 great dishes. The class was exactly the right level - we have a bit of experience cooking but never with Portuguese food and equipment, and it was a really interesting way to learn about the culture of a country. Luis was very helpful, giving us recommendations for the rest of our time away and sending us pictures and the recipies we made. Highly recommended

This tour was a great way to see Lisbon away from the usual tourist traps. Filipa, the tour guide, was a great guide and gave us loads of information an was so much fun. The tour itself took us to lots of varied places. I got to try things i never would have thought of trying or known where to go to get them. The food tasted was outstanding and i definitely left feeling satisfied. Go hungry. If you do this tour, do it at the start of your trip as you will be tempted to go back to all the places again and you can get further tip for the rest of your stay in Lisbon. Do this tour, it's amazing.

Cooking Lisbon was a fantastic introduction to Portuguese cuisine (which I knew very little about ahead of time)!

The group class took on a communal feel, which was great for a solo traveler like me. We were three individuals and two couples, and under the instruction of the chef, we shared tasks to create a four course meal, before sitting down to eat together.

We sipped wine, snacked, and learned about the recipes while creating soup, a fish dish, and meat dish and a dessert.

A great overview to Portuguese food, and now I hope to recreate at home!

This was a fabulous tour of the oldest part of Lisboa - Mouraria. I knew so little and Filipa provided me with just the right amount of history while inviting me to ask for more details whenever I wanted to know more! We walked at a casual pace and the selection of exceptional small restaurants and shops was perfect as was the food served in them! I was totally enlightened by the experience and will definitely try some of Filipa's other tours. I highly recommend this tour to anyone that wants to know more about Lisboa, its food, its culture and its history.

Lovely day – light and entertaining
The market tour was interesting in a sense of learning about Portuguese domestic products, especially the different types of fish and the variety of dishes which could be cooked. It was great going cooking from fresh products and being explained the history of various Portuguese dishes while drinking wine. It was a lovely day, very light and entertaining. At the same time it was amazing learning new things in that atmosphere. The recipes were sent by email directly after class-to practice the dishes back at home and remember Lisbon!

We had some free time in Lisbon at the start of our Uniworld Duoro River cruise, so I found this food tour - Campo de Ourique Food & Cultural Tour. Filipa was our guide and it is her own business. She grew up in the Ourique area so is very knowledgeable. We enjoyed 6 varied food stops, starting and ending with a sweet which is fine by me. It was only a mile of flat walking. The indoor market is amazing & all stops unique. Who knew there was a restaurant serving just mussels & beer! I highly recommend this tour.

My husband and I did a class with my in-laws on our last night in Lisbon, and it was the perfect way to end our trip! The chef was an excellent guide as we cooked our four courses, and made it all comfortable and enjoyable. Luis and Filipe were hilarious and took care to make sure our wine glasses were full and that everyone was having a good time. We met wonderful people, prepared beautiful dishes, and learned about Portuguese culture in a way we wouldn't have been able to otherwise. It really is a blast!

We had a great time participating in a cooking class with cooking Lisbon. My husband and I booked somewhat last minute and are so happy that we had the opportunity to have this experience. We made some delicious authentic Portuguese food and drank some delicious wine! Chef Pedro was so kind and helpful in teaching us how to make each of the dishes. In addition, Filipe, one of the founders was fun and entertaining. We had such a wonderful time and would recommend this experience to anyone visiting Lisbon!

VIP service
This was a full day road trip with a pick-up and drop-off at my apartment in Lisbon. I visited the majestic Pena Palace and Cabo da Roca, as well as the downtown areas of Sintra and Cascais, and I tried some amazing food at Casa Piriquita, Toca Do Julio, and Santini. My local tour guide, Miguel, was very hospitable and patient. He provided VIP service and was able to tailor the itinerary to meet my interests. We also had some great conversations in the car along the way. Obrigado, Miguel!
