If your stomach isn’t tough, this walking tour isn’t for you. It’s designed for brave foodies.
You’ve probably read a lot about codfish in your Lisbon guidebook. Once you’ve tried it, it’s time to take the next step into Portuguese gastronomy. We won’t take you to fancy, top-rated restaurants – for that you have your guidebook.
The purpose of this tour is to introduce you to the weirdest dishes of Portuguese cuisine. From liver, pig ears, cow hooves, chicken feet and bloody rooster rice to pork rinds, snails, guts and testicles (!) – you’ll be surprised at how creative Portuguese gastronomy can be.
Besides this promising combination of ingredients, there are some fusion dishes – fruits of the ex-colonies – full of stories that our guides will be happy to share. You’ll also get to try água ardente (burning water) to aid the digestion process.
If you consider yourself a brave foodie, welcome on board! We’ll be happy to share a table with you, your family and your friends. If you survive until the end and eat all of the specialities our guides suggest, you’ll receive your very own ‘Brave Foodie’ diploma!
