We recently took a tour with Nuno and Marianna which lasted just over 3 1/2 hours. It was thoroughly interesting and enjoyable providing a fun and in-depth overview of the history of Lisbon. The tour is from a locals point of view and covers many things you'd never think of or experience yourself. Nuno recommended 2 restaurants which we attended (Super Mario and Tasca do Jaime d'Alfama) and were both amazing. The tour and evenings we had in the restaurants contributed to an amazing trip! We would never have experienced the restaurants without Nuno's recommendations.

On this tour we skip the touristy attractions and instead show you the Lisbon of locals. We cover the entire historical centre and only visit attractions that are truly worth it.
Rather than giving you a comprehensive textbook account of the city’s history, we share stories that we’ve learnt at home, stories that make sense and could be true, stories that are a bit different from those in the textbooks. In short, we’ll share stories, myths and legends that shape our collective personality.
As this is an interactive tour, we also encourage participants to question our thoughts and perspectives, share opinions and bring new ideas, just as if we’re friends strolling around, debating the living history of this beautiful city.
At the end of our tours we expect only 3 things:
1. You don’t want to leave Lisbon
2. You feel Portuguese
3. You’re already eager to come back
We’re so confident that you’ll be satisfied with the quality of our tour that we’ll let you decide how much you want to pay. You’re free to give as much as you think the tour is worth, depending on your expectations, satisfaction and, of course, budget.
We run the only independent free tour in Lisbon. We don’t have any deals with other businesses and we don’t receive government grants – the project runs solely on your donations.
