We were met at the campground entrance by John. Short introductions and off we went. We were surprised but very pleased that we would be the only 2 on the tour.
Although it was a little rainy and foggy, the tour couldn’t have been any better. We were able to get a look at Sintra in a very special way because of John and his knowledge and dedication to his job.
What we were expecting was to see some sites. What we got was far more than that.
We would rate this tour as one of the best during our long stay in Spain and Portugal.
And for your tour guide John, WOW. He was way beyond what we expected. Very personal and fun guy to have as a guide.
Good job.

Next, we’ll visit the historical centre of Sintra. You’ll have free time for either lunch or a visit to the National Palace (at your own expense).

We’ll then continue on with a drive through the Natural Park, passing the Quinta da Regaleira and Seteais Palaces. We’ll also stop at the great cliffs of Cape Roca, the westernmost point of Continental Europe.

The highlight of our trip to Lisbon
If you are heading to Lisbon, do not miss Sintra. with a private tour with Miguel! He picked us up at our hotel promptly, drove us to Sintra. On Sintra, he took us to all the best spots. It was great to have the knowledge of a local person who speaks English as well as any American. We haven't stopped talking about our wonderful day!

Two tours (two days): †Lisbon‡ and Sintra
My family and I took two tours with Miguel and we were consistently pleased with the tour. I was a bit concerned with how the tour might turn out—I’ve been in Portugal a couple of times, a long time ago. However my wife and teenage son had not. Miguel was extremely attentive and adapted the tour to both what we told him specifically and what he was able to discern from our interest. It was only the three of us and Miguel spent the entire day with us (arriving a few minutes early and ending time was when all locations were covered).

The first day of the tour was of Lisbon (including Belem). We did a combination of walking and car. Though I’d been in Lisbon previously, I had never seen the diversity of locations. We also occasionally stopped for a snack and coffee (and he made suggestions, offering us to choose where to stop). The second day was Sintra and Cascais: Again, the diversity of locations and how Miguel sequenced what we saw was perfect for what we were looking for. I have no reservations about recommending Miguel.
