This was a full day road trip with a pick-up and drop-off at my apartment in Lisbon. I visited the majestic Pena Palace and Cabo da Roca, as well as the downtown areas of Sintra and Cascais, and I tried some amazing food at Casa Piriquita, Toca Do Julio, and Santini. My local tour guide, Miguel, was very hospitable and patient. He provided VIP service and was able to tailor the itinerary to meet my interests. Enjoy a day away from the hustle and bustle of Lisbon on a visit to the nearby natural and architectural beauties of Sintra and Cascais.
After hotel pickup at around 08:30, we’ll begin our day with a walk in nacional Park. See the park’s secret caves, and feel like royalty in Nacional Palace. Admire the views of the surrounding landscape and the Atlantic Ocean. Get to know the fascinating history of this romantic palace.
Next, we’ll visit the historical centre of Sintra. You’ll have free time for either lunch or a visit to the regaleira (at your own expense).
We’ll then continue on with a drive through the Natural Park, passing the Quinta da Regaleira and Seteais Palaces. We’ll also stop at the great cliffs of Cape Roca, the westernmost point of Continental Europe.
Our final destination will be the stylish town of Cascais, where you can take a relaxing walk along the bay before heading back to Lisbon.
