As it was our first visit to Lisbon, I booked the Premium Tour with Paulo Coelho. We loved the city with it's fascinating history and culture. I don't think we could have had a better day or been given more information. Paulo made it very special and interesting and yet relaxed at the same time. Covering most of the city stopping at it's fabulous views. We were driven up to all the sights which we visited after Paulo had given us a very knowledgeable history of them. Paulo also advised where we could go the next day, using the subway and trams. I would certainly recommend Paulo and AJSA Tours to anyone visiting Lisbon.

Description

This tour begins with a scenic drive through Lisbon’s quaint districts to the 25 de Abril Bridge. Here, you can enjoy magnificent views of the city and the Cristo Rei ("Christ the King") monument, which is the largest concrete statue in Europe standing at 28.5 metres. Next, we’ll continue on to the monument, where you’ll have the opportunity to take the elevator to the top for breathtaking views of the city and the Tejo River.

Our next stop will be the Belém district to visit the Hieronymites Monastery, which is among the most important achievements of the Manueline style of architecture (Portuguese late Gothic). Next up is one of Lisbon’s most well known attractions, the Belém Tower, followed by a stop at the Monument to the Discoveries.

The tour then takes us to the São Pedro de Alcântara lookout point, where you can enjoy unique views of the city and the Tejo River. We’ll also stop at Santa Luzia for picturesque views of Alfama, Lisbon’s oldest district.

Our final stop will be the site of Expo ’98 (Park of the Nations), where you can visit the Oceanarium.

We were very satisfied with our tour in Lisbon. Although it started raining in the late afternoon, Paulo organized the tour in a way that the weather wasn't really an issue. Checking the weather forecast we had the sightseeings in the morning and visiting buildings in the afternoon when the rain started. His foreign languages (English and German) are on a very advanced level and his knowledge about the city and Portuguese history is incomparable. We never had a tour like this before! Highly recommended! Abraço, Bruna & Wim
Our guide Paulo was amazing and the best we have ever seen every aspect of our full day private tour was unreal!!
