Eat like the locals
Why locals love it
We, Slovenians, simply love the Carniolan Sausage! This sausage is also a typical Slovene snack if you eat it just with some bread and mustard. The Carniolan sausage contains at least 75 to 80% pork (aside from bacon), and at most 20% bacon. It may contain as much as 5% water, the sea salt from Sečovlje salt pans, little garlic and black pepper.
Why you should visit it
The Sausage House or Klobasarna in Slovene is the best place to taste typical Slovene sausage! The place is quite small but cosy and the menu is very simple: Carniolan Sausage (half or whole), daily stew and štruklji (another typical Slovene dish, composed of dough and various types of filling. Local, typical Slovene and great price!
The sausage is even tastier with local beer Union!
