When meeting someone in the city centre one of the most popular destinations to meet at in Prešern's Square. It could almost be said that all roads lead to Prešern's Square, because it truly is the central square. On a sunny day it is also nice to sit under the monument and enjoy some ice cream.

The botanic garden of Ljubljana is located near Špica and it has the biggest collection of different flowers in Slovenia. It's really nice and really cheap so you can just hang out there and grab a coffee/tea in the coffeeshop Primula, right next to the garden.

Študentovska street is the best and the most famous path leading to Castle hill (no stairs!). It has a strange name "Students Street" although there is no schools around... But in 1789 in near by Vodnik Square there was a school and the man on the statue, Valentin Vodnik, the Slovene priest, poet and journalist, was the headmaster there.

It's an OPEN-AIR theatre that hosts plays and concerts mostly in the summer. It was constructed by our famous architect Jože Plečnik, that designed buildings that resemble buildings from the Roman times.
It's really great just to visit during the day or to go listen to a concert in the summer.

The City Museum of Ljubljana is situated in Auersperg Palace, which in itself is an architectural monument, and holds Ljubljana’s cultural heritage of several millennia. This ranges from the 4,500-year-old prehistoric pile dwelling settlement to the present-day charming capital of Slovenia. Great for small children as well!

This is one of the oldest art museums in Slovenia. It houses some of the most beautiful artworks from middle ages to the post-first-world-war era. It also houses interesting temporary exhibitions, lectures and concerts. It has recently been renovated and the permanent exhibition now includes much more works, and the space shines in all its glory.

Tivoli is a great place because it has lots of green areas, playgrounds for the kids and a gallery in the open! So it's perfect if you just want to relax on the blanket and have a picnic, or you can take a stroll down the Jakopičevo sprehajališče, where there's always a good exhibit (mostly photos).

I like this place because it shows the history of beer-producing in Ljubljana and Slovenia. Old tools, old processes, old glasses, old bottles, old design... Visit to the museum is usually combined with tasting at the Union pub.

It frequently renews it's exhibitions which are always good and interesting. The staff is super friendly and there are some projects sometimes put outside on display. The minisquare in front of MSUM is perfect for chilling outside and skating.
The museum is great for modern art lovers, but for others, maybe not so much.

Fun indoor activity. If it is raining or it is cold, Museums of Illusions can be a fun indoor thing to do. It's best explored with a company and one can make a few amazing photographs, where perception might be dared. Without Photoshop!

This place is known for their wetplate collodion portraiture (one of the first photo processes from 1851) where they take amazing portraits on glass plates using old wooden studio cameras and brass lenses. The process is very hard to do and if you're in Ljubljana, a worthy visit.
