Any nice (not so touristic ;)) restaurants in LJU?!
(6 answers)Me and my boyfriend are coming to LJU for a couple of days at the end of august. We are searching for nice, cozy and preferably affordable restaurants that locals favour?
Any other secret "must-experience-" hidden gems there?
Thanks in advance!

I would recoment BUREK OLIMPIJA for a take away snack. They afficial best nack in Ljubljana, but it is take away. Otherwise Piaza is very nice and not touristic at all
Hidden gems- Metelkova, Celica hostel, Tovarna Rog, Ziferblat, Pivoteka, park Tivoli has a lot of fun statues, check out an open air gallery about our most famous architecht Plecnik, go up Nebotičnik by foot! so you can see more of its lovely architecture features and in Trnovo are some roman ruins.
If you have any other question I will be more than glad to help you out. Have a nice trip. Enjoy Slovenia, it has much to offer.

Tina, hello, if you like meat I'd recommend Deset v pol, the address is Litijska 47, bus nr9 and 13 stops just on the opposite side of the street. It's Balkan (Sarajevo to be exact) style cuisine. As interesting fast food I'd expose Fari's Delice on Miklošičeva street 32(?), ran by Fari, symphatetic guy from Iran. Secret gem is for shore Odprta Kuhna (Open Ktchen), on summer Fridays on the main food market under the castle along the river. There you can try different food from different quality restaurants, very good and interesting but quiet crowdy.
Try out one of these:
- Ek zajtrkovalnica is good for breakfasts and brunch
- Valentin is a fish specialised restaurant
- Špajza, Julija and Valvasor are good restaurants for lunch or dinner.
Enjoy your stay in Ljubljana. If you would like to ask something more just do it. :)
Be good
