London’s mix of architectural styles has an immeasurable effect on the city’s charm. A refreshing break from classical influence is the 1960’s Barbican Complex which distinguishes itself with its grand use of scale and brutal approach to design. The site of extensive destruction during the Blitz, it now accommodates Europe’s largest arts centre.

Without even mentioning the concert halls, the choice of cinemas, the numerous art galleries, the Barbican Complex’s presence makes it a destination in itself. The seamless merger of residences, retail and culture keep the Barbican constantly breathing and there’s few better places in London to sit beside the running water and enjoy a quiet lunch.
Apart from the architecture outdoors, based indoors is the London Symphony Orchestra and take it from me they are worth the ticket price.
