Barge House - Eating & Nightlife in London - LikeALocal Guide

Why locals love it?

As its name suggests the Barge House is a cozy café/bar moored on the shores of the Regent’s Canal. A stroll down the canal is the pilgrimage of many East London locals that treat themselves to Breakfast in Bread; a unique twist on the traditional full English with all the favourite breakfast ingredients lovingly enclosed in fresh sourdough bread.

Why you should visit it

If the canals are the veins of East and North London than this modern canal-side refurbishment is part of the DNA that makes this area of the capital so unique. And if the food and waterside location aren't enough of a draw already, the café forms part of a larger operation; including bar, private room hire, local art displays and comedy nights.

Special tip

Obviously the Breakfast in Bread is a must, but if they sell out (likely after 3pm) then go for the salt beef sandwich. And plan to enjoy the walk!
