Short Course in
Drinking History
Nightjar11
Why locals love it
Nightjar rates amongst the finest of London's cocktail scene and is a well kept secret by Old Street locals. Descending the narrow staircase will take you back in time to a dimly lit, intimate 1920's speakeasy with all the glamorous trimmings of the era, and a menu covering historic boozy classics from pre-prohibition, prohibition and post-war.

Why you should visit it
This is a must see for cocktail lovers and professional bartenders, and an eye opening experience even for the loyal beer drinkers amongst us. The staff are amazing and will happily guide you through the menu with a personal touch, offering suggestions and recommending their personal favourites. Top it all of with live jazz, swing or blues.
Special tip
Book a table. I have it on very good authority that this is an exceptional place to impress a date. Don't forget to tip the piano player!
