I actually quite liked the Harrods afternoon tea. Their scones (you can ask for refills) and the tea were excellent. For a less pricey option, try The Ivy. £29 inclusive of one glass of bubbly. The one near Liverpool Station hasa nice setting too.

NOT fortnum and mason - it doesn't live up to the hype. The dorchester is very fancy and very British and very expensive but a real experience. The langham - i haven't been to the london one but the one in Pasadena was so amazing I'm going to guess the london one is too. For deals check out www.afternoontea.co.uk. For a cool experience with a fantastic view but not the best tea - check out Groupon for Vertigo42.

Personally I love Claridges but friends of mine have said that The Dorchester is lovely too. I’m going to try that myself soon. I recently had festive afternoon tea at The Savoy but felt extremely rushed and it did not compare to the service and quality of Claridges
