Buying tickets to watch a musical

There are several websites where I can buy tickets to watch a musical. I wonder how do locals buy their tickets? Is there any preference? Do some of these websites charge a higher admin fee than others? Or are they all about the same? Thanks.

Today Tix app is a fantastic way to go about it. What I use regularly. Allows you to enter lots of the daily lotteries and gives you access to rush tickets.
Otherwise depends on the show; lots have cheap returns at the door around 6 or have early morning lotteries at 9am.
But today tix is really very good.

Hi, go to Leicester Square where there is TKTS half price ticket booth. It opens at 10:00 am and any unsold ticket for that days performance will be half price. These will be top tickets. They’re the only official cheap ticket theatre tickets in londonas they’re run by the Society of London Theatres. Check them out on TKTS.co.uk. You can book tickets in advance but those ones are not discounted. All Londoners use this service. Have fun

Half price ticket booth TKTS in Leicester Square is good if buying in person on the day or up to a week before (best on the day) https://officiallondontheatre.com/tkts/

TodayTix also good for last minute deals and offers as others have said

Visit Theatremonkey {just Google it} and you'll find out everything you could possibly want to know about buying the best seat for the best price in London. I swear by it. The best bit is this website had no skin in the game, as it were. They're not selling anything or controlled by any of the brands that are, so it's just impartial advice. The seat reviews mean you can often choose a cheaper seat knowing in advance that you will be comfortable, with a decent view. Conversely, you can save yourself from buying tickets for seats at prices that seem to be to good to be true and then finding out there's a pillar blocking your view. Give it a go.

Different websites have different prices so you need to search a little. Websites like lastminute.com do discounted tickets for good seats sometimes so worth looking. If you want to go to a musical that is popular and you are limited for time then worth buying tickets before hand but otherwise can take the risk and go on the day to the ticket office where they may have tickets available at a discounted rate.
