Borough market. But I find it a bit expensive sometimes. Camden market has an amazing food market with very good food stalls. My favourite is the one with venezuelan arepas :)

Otherwise :
- Goodge street, it’s close to uni and a mix of cheaper and more expensive options
- I love the chain Leon as they are allergy conscious and treat their employees well, and they have a lot of places.
- Shoreditch is also great if you like vietnamese food
- Whitechapel is a great place for punjabi / pakistani food. Needos and Tayyabs are great
- Honest burgers for a burger.

There are some cheap eats at Spitalfields market. Look on Groupon for meal deals. You get some great deals for lunch and Prosecco at lunch times.

I discovered Borough Market last week. Good range of stalls. Its central London so although prices are cheaper than a restaurant its still cost me £8 for a snack n drink.

Main markets like Borough or Camden normally have cheap-ish food around lunch time. There is a lovely food market on Berwick Street, London, which is in Soho. I would recommend Savage Salads and the Med Cafe. It really depends on what you get and the quantity.

Nothing is cheap in London :-)

Try Portobello on Saturday's. I saw others mention Brick Lane (Curry houses) and Borough Market again on Saturday has Pop-ups that sell at decent prices.

But again you might need to factor travel cost, which could be quite high if you are not around/near these places.

Cheers!

Read https://thenudge.com/features/best-food-markets-london/ ! At Brick Lane on Sundays, go to Up Market on the corner of Hanbury St and Brick Lane. Broadway Market at London Fields, along with Netil Market are good and a bit less busy than Brick Lane or Spitalfields. However, be warned that street and market food is slowly coming up in price and almost the same as restaurants these days. Exmouth Market is lined with stalls at lunch time and still a bit cheaper than central places. Also read https://london.eater.com/ - they have loads of pointers. Go to www.hungryonion.com and ask the locals for budget choices. Opentable.com gives you 50% of food if you book an early table at their chosen places. And look on Groupon for deals . Hope you find some good eats! :)
