I've never been to NY, but from the stereotypes it seems lively.
London is packed full of people, there's something for everyone.
My favourite area is Shoreditch
the tube is very hot in the summer so stay hydrated

i find it quite different. i think the narrowness of the streets and how close together everything is, the energy seems higher in london. this also means that the neighbourhoods in london seem more like villages and each one with a different energy. the markets are the most buzzy, the parks are packed with people, the high streets are crowded. there's nowhere to spread out! in all, i find london more chaotic but for me it's a pleasant sort of chaotic. you never know what will happen next.

Only went New York as a 10 year old, but what I remember it was very touristy and had a lot of entertainment on the streets like 'party boy' ...

London, if you're going during the summer, will be lively for sure and it depends what you're looking for or what vibes. It's can be a chill as laying in the park or taking a stroll along the river... or you can go around soho and feel the buzz.
