What is the best way to travel from London to Windsor Castle? Any tips and suggestions as what else to do around there?

Waterloo to Windsor or Paddington to Windsor. It's straightforward once you get there. It will be obvious with the castle dominating the scenery, with its guards and daily tours.

But I also love to walk along the river (follow the signs) to Eton College and take a tout there. It's fascinating and so much history.

If you like hiking, Virginia Water http://www.windsorgreatpark.co.uk/en/experiences/virginia-water - is very nice and close by.

No ideas on where to eat in Windsor but I'd think afternoon tea would be regal and fun etc. The high street is cute but also includes all the expected franchises you always see on UK high streets.

Have a great time!

Trains to Windsor can betaken from Waterloo directly to Windsor, it takes around 1 h or less, the station is literary in front of the train station, one advice; try to get back to London through train before 10 PM as the last train is around that time, if miss it you will be stuck and taxi will be your option and it will be very expensive.
