That will cost you a lot, better take a train to central London and then a cab. But we usually use uber or viavan

Hi Paige,

Do not take a Taxi, there is fast train service direct from Stanstead to London Liverpool Street, you can then take a tube from Liverpool Street to London Bridge and then take a train from there to East Croydon.

You will never get scammed in a London black iconic taxi. They have all studied for 4vyears doing the knowledge of London. They know where every destination is and they will also give you ideas where to go what to do

Don't use uber. They are not regulated they have untold accidents, they use sat navs and the recoded accidents with them on London roads is ridiculous I wouldn't trust my animal in then . Ohhh and they get lost cos central London sat navs don't work
Sorry just realised it's Stanstead you need to go get a train
What! Ridiculous answer, I ride ubers all the time so does everyone I know. This is such fake news it's unbelievable
You can't get scammed if you use Uber, you should also download Citymapper which gives you estimation of journey costs, but Uber will do that too. Don't use black cabs as they are slightly more expensive and you can't know the fare before commencing the journey. From Stansted Airport you should take the Stansted Express to London Liverpool Street https://www.stanstedexpress.com/ and make your way to Croydon from there which can do easily on train with Citymapper as your guide.

Hi Paige - you're best off booking a local Croydon taxi firm or an uber in advance to get the best rate. It's a long journey from Stansted to Croydon (60 miles) so you'll be looking at £70 - £80 for even the cheapest taxi I think.

Best to get an uber I would say...

That is a very long way. I would recommend trains rather than taxi or it'll be over £100.

Hi Paige, it would be a lot, at least £75 I expect. Book in advance and confirm price to avoid getting scammed. You could also use uber but you would probably have to wait a while.

Sorry no idea as I live on the other side of London. Suggest googling it.
Have you heard of uber?

It would be approximately £50 - £75 and depends on the taxi company. It is about 60 miles to Croydon and a taxi journey would take about 1 hour and 30 minutes. and would be expensive. I believe that you can get a train directly from Stansted Airport to East Croydon Station - the cost is roughly £25 - £30.
Hope this helps

Kind Regards

Don't take a taxi! Stanstead is in outskirts on the other side of London which will be very expensive by taxi. Your much cheaper option is to take public transport. Trains from Croydon to central London are regular from East Croydon station. From there you can navigate your way to Stanstead from Liverpool Street station.

Alternatively, if you are staying in Croydon, Gatwick Airport is much closer. Trains from Gatwick to East Croydin run every 10 minutes and cost under £10.

Hi Paige, i would recommend if possible booking a bus to Victoria or london somewhere and then taking a cab to croydon. stanstead and croydon are miles apart.
http://www.easybus.com/en/ can get you to cenral london for about a fiver per person.

Hi, sorry, I didn't see from Stansted...Fare estimate with Uber says between £60-76.
Do you have Uber app?
Otherwise I would book a cab with a local minicab station in Croydon to come to pick you up and back (when I go to Stansted or come back from Stansted late at night I normally book with my local minicab station which has a fix tariff).
Taxi at the airport is normally super expensive.

Best bet is to use Uber and cost would be in the range of £60-80.

You can prebook a taxi and agree on a price rather than running on a meter. I would estimate £100. Uber would be much cheaper.

it'll take about an hour and 20 minutes so at least £50 :(
Average taxi cost should be £65-70.
Depends who you book with..UBER would be the cheapest but you can't pre-book.
Otherwise Google a taxi company and pre-book to avoid unexpected costs.

If you are travelling alone the trains woild be cheaper bit for 2 + passengers a taxi is the best option.

It would take about an hour and a half to drive to croyden from stantsed, the taxi fare would be extortionate. Most black cabs have fare timers inside the cab which go up automatically so you can't really get scammed but any other kind of taxi can charge whatever they like, however, black taxis are usually more expensive. I would suggest using public transport - it would be cheaper but would probably take just as long
