I don't like Poppies either, LOVE 2017 Winner National Fish & Chip award "Fish" in Borough Market!! Instagram @fishboroughmarket.
Stall is great or they have a sit down restaurant around the corner ;)

Kenfish Town, near the O2 Forum. It doesn't mention it, but there has been a fish and chip shop on this site for 200 years.

I go to a lot of recommendations for Poppies but I didn't care for it, they leave the skin on the underside and their wasn't much of a taste.
I know, not much help.

I liked the restaurant, but I didn't think much if the food either.
I love The Golden Union.
Great quality traditional fish & chips.
Great homemade mushy peas too. It can get busy but I've rarely waited more than 10 minutes to sit down and eat. It's really close to oxford street too which is a plus for tourists.

Try Golden Hind in Marylebone, London. It allows you to bring your own bottle of alcohol as well. Have fun!
