Mildred's is my favourite vegetarian restaurant in London, for sure, with plenty of vegan options. It can be hard to get into, so worth making a reservation for the Camden or Kings Cross locations, although soho doesn't take reservations (so you would have to just get there early).

Manna in primrose hill is also really good. Also, there's a vegan cupcake show in Brixton, if you are in the area called Ms Cupcake.

Another idea - there's a newly opened fried chicken place in Hackney that I've been meaning to go to and seems to be well-liked called Temple of Seitan.

The Gate is also good - though not as good as Mildred's I would say.

Last thing to note - the vegetarian restaurant Fed was a local favourite within my neighbourhood, Hoxton. However, many vegetarians/vegans have been boycotting the restaurant due to their derogatory comments regarding local protests against police violence. They are not as good as Mildred's anyway!

Mildreds! There are a handful across London. Even when I ate meat I loved this place! check out the website here: http://www.mildreds.co.uk/

Honestly one of the best restaurants I have ever been too and the portions are amazing, I'm always full and end up taking some home with me.

I'm not a vegan, but I do eat some of the vegan options on menus as I'm a vegetarian. Places that do vegan options are Pret a Manger (it's more of a café), Prezzo, Zizi, Bella Italia and Pizza Express. The Italian restaurants do vegan toppings on pizzas (without cheese basically) but some of them also have the option of making a vegan one (base & cheese substitute). Wagamamas doesn't do vegan meals specifically, but I think some of their vegetarian meals are probably vegan friendly. Itsu is a Japanese chain, it mostly does takeout / lunch boxes, but I think it has vegan food too. Yo Sushi does as well and although it's not 'fine dining' it is a restaurant.
All of those places are where I eat regularly - I think they do some great food! - and they display the nutritional and allergen information on their online menus.

Hi Danielle,

Try this link for some of the lesser know ones. I like the laid back styles like Carnevale, but that's mainly because it's not far from where I work. There's lots of placed that cater for vegans these days :-).

I can also recommend the app Happy Cow which finds recommendations near you in lots of countries.

Enjoy!

And on this list I can definitely attest to Gujarati Rasoi - went with my Gujarati friend and as loved it as well! Gallery Cafe is also a great community cafe and the Larder is also a great local hang-out

Hi Danielle!
I've been to a few really good ones, first one is say is the Gate. They have three restaurants and I've been to the one in Angel on St John's road. It's really good, tasty dishes! Bit pricy but good.
Secondly I recently tried out a vegan Italian place in Dalston Junction, if you're staying east this is an unexpected gem. They make everything fresh including lots of different vegan cheeses. It's called FED and is just by the station.
As a third bonus option I've just discovered a local favourite restaurant of mine called Chai Nasto has just opened a vegan restaurant in north London I think Haggerston, bit far but probably very nice.
Hope you enjoy!
I've got one more if you're more central so just let me know if you want more:))
