A Street For Nightlife

(12 answers)

Hi, I’ve been to London before and found a lot of the bars were spread out so you had to walk a bit or get transport between bars that sort of ruins the party atmosphere. This weekend I am staying in Wapping. Is there any areas in London that has a load of bars you can do a bit of a crawl on and has a bit of a party vibe that dont require taxis in between? Thanks, Dan.

Head to Hoxton from old street to Hoxton Square more trendy bars and clubs than you will ever need.

Hi Daniel. I would head to Shoreditch. There are quite a few bars on Shoreditch High Street and over toward Brick Lane (walking distance from each other), with a nice party vibe going on. Just keep in mind that it's really cold here at the moment, so people aren't likely to be hanging out on the streets... Have fun!

Kingsland road / high street in Dalston has loads of bars, from sit and drink to dancing. Or you could hit up Hoxton square, Shoreditch (Shoreditch high st, curtain road) and old street which are all walking distance to each other - they are more commercial so depends on your style. Have fun!

Hi Dan, to be honest you get that in most parts of London, but if you head to Camden (via Camden Road underground station) it’s pretty busy around there. There are lots of pubs, bars and clubs of all different atmospheres but do be aware that some will require a ticket or payment upon entry. There are also plenty of chicken shops and other food places open pretty late so you can grab something to eat before you head home.
Enjoy your night out!

Kimberley, please, I got another question: what do girls wear inside nightclubs, on winter? is it possible to wear 'regular' clothes, like skirts and dresses, or is it always too cold for that?
Hi Rafaela, it’s usually pretty cold on the way to and from the clubs but inside the clubs it gets really hot! In winter girls usually wear dresses or skirts but some wear jeans to keep warm. There’s lots of different styles so wear what you want :)
Hi Dan, If you're in Wapping, I'd head to Shoreditch/Hoxton. Aim to start at a pub like the Crown & Shuttle on Shoreditch High St, and then move on to Old Street or Curtain Rd, maybe somewhere like The Blues Kitchen (Curtain Rd) for some live music or The Hoxton Pony/Concrete for more of a clubby vibe. If you wanted to carry on til early hours, Dalston down the road has a few more clubs like The Alibi/The Nest.

Soho is also an amazing spot, but a bit further adrift for you getting back to Wapping.

Piccadilly/Leicester Sq is much more of a touristy vibe, and not as cool as Shoreditch/Soho. I'd avoid.

Hey Dan. Yes mate. Shoreditch, Angel, Brixton and areas of the city for sure. Great crowd and vibe. All will give you loads of bars, sound music and give you a proper London feel where not all spread out. If you want the best club, go to Fabric or Print Rooms. Enjoy!

Best place for bars and restaurants is Canary Warf at the back. This is right near your base and has good crowd. running here and there takes the fun away whereas you have quality bars right at your doorstep. enjoy
