Hi Londoners,

I'm vegan and am visiting London for the first time as a vegan. I was wondering what are your favorite places to eat for dinner, lunch, breakfast and also if there are ice cream shops and cake shops.

Thanks so much!!

Cheers,

Raiza

Hi! I’m not actually vegan myself but I’m going to try answer your question as much as I can! VX is a really good place for vegan cakes and fast food. The new bychloe restaurant is a pretty obvious choice for lunch. Farm girl is a really nice cafe which my vegan friend loves. Mildred’s is one of the most popular veggie places in London so do make sure to check that out too. Wild food cafe in tucked in Neals Yard in Covent Garden is also a good place to visit :))) hope this helps!

I was planning on going to Oxford street for shopping, so will definitely keep an eye out for this. Also VX for vegan junkfood. I eat really healthy and workout 6 days a week, but on holidays I'm gonna go all out. Calories don't exist. If you're ever in Amsterdam then the vegan junk food bar is great!
Hey There! First, let me preface this that I'm not a vegan. However, London is filled with easy vegan options. There are loads of options in our indian, Vietnamese and thai restaurant options. classic Vegan options are Mildred's in Soho, Black Vanilla in Farringdon and Spicebox in the Druid Street market in southwark. Street Food Markets are increasingly popular and almost always have 1 vegan stall. Timeout.com and Thrillist are great websites the get additional recos. I hope this helps!

Try Las Iguanas - they are a Mexican fine dining restaurant & have a separate vegan & vegetarian menu. Also, you can check out Wok to Walk.

Mexican, huh? YUM! I know wok to walk. We have them here too, but I'm not big on Wok to Walk. Thanks anyway :)
Hiya! I actually work for crosstown doughnuts and we've just launched our all vegan doughnut and coffee shop in Marylebone. We also stock a selection of vegan doughnuts at all our locations around London (they are delicious). Apart from that, Broadway Market on Saturdays has alot of vegan stalls (I think there's even a vegan section in the school yard). You'll also have to try Temple of Satien in Hackney for vegan fried 'chicken'. Hopefully the below help too!

AAH donuts! Yum! Unfortunately I will not be there on a Saturday, but next time perhaps.
It depends on where you are staying. If you'll be in East London (Hackney, Bethnal Green) I can recommend The Gallery, Black Cat, and Dark Arts Cafe for yummy + cheap brunch!
If you like Indian food, my FAV vegan restaurant is this buffet:

Aaww thanks Sameh! I've been to London a few times, but never as a vegan, so I'm excited to eat all the vegan foods haha.
This is a useful website https://www.veganlondon.co.uk/
Thanks so much. Will definitely check it out. :)
...Both are amazing food wise but spread eagle is a much nicer pub in terms of decor & comfort. I'd recommend booking ahead as they are so popular.

Someone mentioned wagamamas... the katsu curry is ONLY available at the 'noodle lab' central branch and often sold out so I wouldn't bother going especially. Worth a try if you're nearby. All branches have vegan options but standard meals.

Oh and the food market in brick lane on the weekend has vegan stalls too from hot food to sweet treats.

I hope that's some help. Of course the usual websites like happy cow will give you more options but these are my personal go to's off the top of my head - I live in north east London though so that's where most of these are. Where are you staying?

Veganism is booming here!

For fancier dinner definitely try The Gate (couple of locations), for fast food/the best fake meat I have to recommend Temple of Hackney/Camden and The big V. If you're around Piccadilly etc Vegan Hippo does yummy jackfruit burgers & hot dogs. We also have buffet weigh & pay restaurants they're not my personal fave, but convenient as all tend to be quite central. Camden has several vegan places. Mildreds is good & again has several locations. The diner have a vegan menu including waffles & 'chicken' & vegan thick shake. For brunch Palm Vaults in Hackney is yummy & so cute it gets very busy on weekends so I'd give it a try on a work day. Black cat cafe does vegan fry ups etc too.

For sweet treats dough society in Hackney for delish donuts and crosstown donuts have opened a vegan branch 5 mins walk from bond st tube / Oxford street. If you can get to a vegan market on the weekend I highly recommend it. Hackney Downs Vegan Market & Broadway vegan market on Saturdays. For ice cream we have a vegan ice cream parlour Yorica in Soho. For cakes & shakes - Cookies and Scream (Camden would be the most convenient location).

A quick stop is the veggie branch of Pret also around the Soho area which does a really good 'mac & greens'.

We also have a few vegan pubs now, the blacksmith & toffeemaker in Islington and spread eagle in homerton...

Someone else also mentioned Mildred, so will definitely check it out. I read about Temple of Seitan. It's number one on my list to visit. I've been wanting to try jackfruit for a long time now, as I don't know where to get it here. So I will put it on the list for sure. You have so many awesome recommendations. Will add them all to my list. I'm excited to go!!
By High Street Shoreditch there is a amazing falafel and tofu wrap with veggie trimmings and hot sauce/garlic sauce... There is also some great cake shops in Stratford...

If you want to buy me a wrap in High Street Shoreditch. I can show you around the sites of London for the afternoon?

I'm going to Camden!! I will keep this in mind. Have you heard of Temple of Seitan? I'm so excited to try it. Haven't had fried chicken in so so long, and this sounds like an amazing alternative without the cruelty haha.
Yorica! Is a vegan ice cream shop in Soho. As for meals almost every place these days has vegan options. I like Sagar in Fitzrovia (Indian) personally and The Gate in Marylebone.

Not a specific London tip but I use an app called Happy Cow. It has suggestions on vegan/vegetarian/gluten free restaurants all over the world; just type in your diet and your location and off you go! I can’t recommend this app enough; the reviews and ratings are very accurate and I’ve loved nearly every restaurant I’ve found through it.
