Why locals love it

Over the past 40 years London's skaters have organically created an icon from the leftover urban spaces of Southbank Centre. Overcoming numerous attempts at redevelopment, London's own Mayor Boris Johnson recently voiced most of the city's thoughts: that the park is the "epicentre of UK skateboarding and is part of the cultural fabric of London"

Why you should visit it

This isn't a just skate park, this is a living interpretation of London's public space. If you're growing tired of experiencing the same manufactured and repetitive retail zones that litter most city river fronts, come down and observe the friendly and engaging way the local's use their city. Lovers of street art won't be disappointed either!

Special tip

The park is undercover so its a great place to check out if its starts to rain, which is very possible!

Skaters of all ages welcome - you can just watch if you don't want to skate and they usually don't mind you taking photos. Surrounded by amazing graffiti and is in the middle of the busy Southbank right on the river with street performers and food everywhere as well as the Southbank Centre
