Why locals love it

Each year since 2000 some of the world's premier architects have made a temporary contribution to London's Serpentine Gallery with their personal take on the summer pavilion. When the sun begins to bathe Hyde Park for another year locals know to make the Gallery a stop on their park outing to admire modern architecture in its most playful form.

Why you should visit it

The renowned architect's who have participated in this annual installation (Zaha Hadid, Frank Gehry to name a few) is a testament to the esteem of the pavilion. Each has encouraged interaction with the user in a different way so you won't be just a passive observer, in fact you'll most likely be able to climb, move and even play the architecture!

Special tip

Open: 26/06/14 - 19/10/14. The pavilion is open during the day but check the Serpentine Gallery website for events that will be held there

every year the pavillion has a cafe space projected by a different architect. Besides, it is a museum in the park, so you have the best of both worlds.
