An undiscovered gem, Barnsdall is the park for locals who want some quiet. With great views of the city, it plays host to those just looking for a leisurely stroll or some sunbathing. The park sits atop a hill across from Griffith Park.
Located within walking distance of the Vermont/Sunset red line station, the park has both a well-groomed copse of pine trees that provide plenty of shade and an open field with tables and chairs and sun. There's also a museum dedicated local artists and a famous house that occasionally hosts artsy events, like wine tastings and craft fairs.
