On the first Friday of each month, Abbot Kinney shuts down to give foodie pedestrians free reign. The street fills with hundreds of popular food trucks that cover all sorts of cuisines--regional, fusion, desserts--while a lot of the shops have good deals going to attract customers as they eat.

Why you should visit it
Los Angeles is a well established city in the foodie scene, and food trucks are a huge part of that culture. First Fridays is a fun way to try a few different places in one evening. Also, as it is located right on Abbot Kinney, there are a lot of really cool shops along the road as you hunt for culinary gold.
Special tip
Bring cash! Very few trucks take cards, and if you find one that does, chances are the line is huge.
