Why locals love it
I love this park and nature center. There are several trails that loop through the park. There are several guided classes that are free to join on the weekends. There is also a cute little gift shop, and a little nature museum that informs visitors of the indigenous area.
Why you should visit it
The history of this place is incredible. There is Native American history that runs through the entire park. Furthermore, this is where gold was supposedly first found in California. There is a historic landmark for the tree, and an original house from the 1800's at the park as well. Lastly there are exotic animals that are also available to view.
The tail has it that Francisco Lopez fell asleep under the oak and dreamed he was floating in a body of water filled with gold, which he soon found.
