Description

Borrego Springs is located on the floor of the Borrego Valley and is surrounded by the Anza-Borrego State Park. This park encompasses more than 600,000 acres (2400 km2), making it the largest desert state park in the nation!

Borrego Springs is well known for the 130 freestanding metal sculptures by Ricardo Breceda that are dispersed, sometimes hiding, in the Galleta Meadows.

Local riders particularly enjoy the last miles of the winding country road that reaches the bottom of the Borrego Valley from Warner Springs. It offers a breathtaking view of the desert.

On the way out, the narrow Yaqui Pass Road makes you feel like you’re in a Western movie. At the end of the road we hit Julian, an old gold-mining town now renowned for its delicious apple pie. This part of the ride is a tribute to the Wild West: its prairies, small towns, high desert and isolated valleys.

Heading south of L.A., we coast along the Pacific through major beach cities and can stop to check out a couple of Spanish missions: San Luis Obispo and San Luis Rey de Francia.

This is a perfect year-round ride that combines many different west coast sceneries.
