Open dawn to dusk, this free and close local hiking spot gives you the feel of being away from town. Great for biking, running or hiking, the trail has a few loops so you can adjust your trip according to how you feel. Dog friendly!

Why you should visit it
The rock formations make a beautiful backdrop for exercise. If you hike all the way to the base of the backbone there is a keyhole you can see to the other side of the valley. There are 12 miles of trail and connects to Rimrock and Horsetooth Open Space trails.
Special tip
The trail is quite exposed so bring lots of water and a hat if you're going on a sunny day. Also, snakes are sometimes spotted on this trail.
