Why locals love it
Inari is the largest municipality in Finland and one of the largest and most international tourist municipalities. Inari is located in the northernmost corner of the European Union, in the middle of the North Calotte. It covers 5 percent of Finland's surface area. Less than a third of the Inari's population are Sámi.
Why you should visit it
Inari's spacious original nature makes Inari the most attractive tourist destination in Lapland. Inari has more than 100 named fells. There are more than 10,000 lakes in the Inari area. Lake Inari is the second largest lake in Finland. Its length is about 100 km.
Special tip
In addition to Finnish, the municipality officially uses three different Sámi languages; Northern Sámi, Inari Sámi and Skolt Sámi.
