You can't visit Madrid without trying churros or the thicker porras. Doughnut-like deep fried batter, eaten with a cup of thick chocolatesauce or coffee. San Ginés is like the holy grail of churros, and this old style café's atmosphere alone is worth the visit. Enjoy your churros at the marble tables, and watch the busy staff prepare your treats.
Due to it's location close to Puerta del Sol - where the Madrileños celebrate New Years eve, it's a tradition to drop by San Ginés on the way home.
