Officially known as Palacio de Comunicaciones, this beauty of a palace at the famous Cibeles-fountain, is one of the most beloved buildings in Madrid. Now used as the citys townhall, and often acts as an iconic backdrop for local and national celebrations around the fountain.

Why you should visit it
It's free to enter and the building is definitely worth visiting for it's interior alone. Other than the townhall, this magnificent palace also hosts the cultural hub CentroCentro, which offers galleries and events. Spend two euros and get and amazing view from the tower, and finish your visit off with a drink at the lounge-style rooftop terrace.

Behind the palace you will find La Galería de Cristal - an impressive glass-covered passage. Check all individual opening times on the website!
