I did this tour with my parent while we were visiting Spain. I cannot recommend it enough. It was hands down my favorite thing we did in Madrid. We learned about the street art culture in Madrid and the history of the lavapies neighborhood. It really made me feel more connected to the city and understand what is happening there currently. Our tour guide was engaging, fun, and super knowledgeable. Overall great experience!! Thanks!!

Description

The Street Art Tour curated by Cooltourspain will reveal which are the most popular graffiti & street art spots in Madrid city center.

A 2 hours guided visit where a local artist will explain the history of this underground movement in the capital of Spain.

This city tour in Madrid will visit the artwork that local, national and international artists developed at the most important street art festivals in town: CALLE Lavapiés, Muros Tabacalera and Urvanity festival.

A private tour completely explained in English, but also available in Spanish or French, due to the influence of artists such as Banksy, Blak Le Rat or Okudart.

Lavapiés neighbor is also featured in this tour of the city. Considered by many as the most multicultural area of Madrid you may find any kind of nationality in the populated street, both during the day and at night.

La Tabacalera's walls are also explained. Full information from the national and international artists who participate yearly in this massive project.

Our last point covered in this street art tour is El Campo de Cebada, located at La Latina square. A former community sports center which was abandoned and now used by the community.

Great experience
We took the lavapies garaffiti tour and enjoyed every moment of it.
A cool dive into the stories and artists of the neighborhood, a really great morning experience that makes you feel at home in the street. Highly recommended
Fascinating tour of my own city from an alien point of view to me
I came to discover new places and stories of my own city (Madrid) thanks to our guide, Santiago, who really shows his passion for streetart, teaching and connecting to all kinds of folks.
I definetely recommend the tour if one want to get in touch with the most underground aspects of Madrid.
Fantastic Tour
After Santiago toured us through a few neighborhoods, we had a new way of seeing the city. Really appreciated learning about the history of the murals and street signs, what was regulated and unregulated, and how the local artists wouldn't tag any business with art of their own on their walls. Highly recommend, one of the highlights of our trip!
Worth the experience!
I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who is interested in street art. Javier was extremely knowledgeable and connected to the street art world in Madrid. The tour provided insight behind the social and political statements the artworks were conveying. Without going on this tour I would’ve overlooked each work in the Lavapies and La Latina neighborhoods. It was another way to see the city and because of this tour I will be going on other street art tour when I travel to a new city.
Santi was a fantastic guide!
Santi was such a nice guy and super knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the art he was showing us. He really took the time to include everyone and make sure he explained each piece and answered any questions we had confidently. It was definitely a highlight of our trip - thanks! :-)

We loved this!
I booked this for myself, my husband and our 16-year old son and our Dutch friends, who also have a 16-year old son, and it was outstanding! Truly one of the highlights of our trip. Our Dutch friends loved the biking, as did we -- and we got to see streets and places that we might not have seen or visited. Javier is the "designer" of the route and he is a fantastic guy -- fun, knowledgeable, passionate about Madrid and a great guide. I would highly recommend this especially if you have teens who might want to be active and not visit one more museum and/or if people in your group have experience biking, good balance and would feel comfortable riding around a bustling city (although mostly side streets -- only a few times crossing really busy streets -- originally I thought this might even be fun for my parents but then realized absolutely not for my dad but my mom could do it because although she is older, she is an avid biker).

Good!
Nice tour around a city center neighborhood, with a friendly and easy to understand tour guide. Tour concluded at a nice food market which would otherwise have went undiscovered. We were disappointed that we didn’t go into the Tobacco factory grounds to view the street art in there- I had read up there was a cafe etc. in there, perhaps it’s now all been closed off to the public.
