Not quite as edgy as the website makes out, but new eatery and bar Neighbourhood is a great example of how the glamorous Manchester glitterati like to party. With NYC-cool decor, cocktails and menu (pimped up US comfort food), this venue morphs from restaurant to club as the tunes gradually escalate over the night. Open for breakfast and lunch too.

Why you should visit it
Great old school dance tunes and a fun party atmosphere. Like fish? Go for the Shrimp Crackle and Pop followed by the Baked Lobster Mac and Cheese (Lobster macaroni cheese basically). Amazing.
Special tip
Do dress up. Manchester's finest – the bronzed and the beautiful – are out in force in Neighbourhood.
