Hi Pavol,

you can get the tram (Metrolink) from the airport to the city centre. Here's the map http://www.metrolink.co.uk/stationinfo/Documents/Route_Map.pdf.

You can get a train to London which takes around 2 hours. Cheaper to book in advance if you can. https://www.thetrainline.com

You can also get a bus to London - details here. https://www.stagecoachbus.com

Have a great trip!

The best way to get from London to Manchester is by the train. It's quick (around 2-2.5 hours) and can be reasonably priced. There are many different main stations in London so make sure you know exactly which one is which! Manchester is smaller so the train stations are closer together.

Manchester airport and the city centre are well linked by metrolink and train. It would depend which city centre area you are going to depending which tram/train you would get but they're all easy to navigate and like I said, not too far in distance within the city.

There is a train station at the airport, trains will go straight from there to Manchester Piccadilly. It won't take more than 15 minutes. Manchester Piccadilly also has trains straight to London, check virgin trains for prices and times

There are trains every 10 minutes or so from the airport to Manchester Piccadilly. You can also get trains from Manchester Piccadilly to London Euston, book as early as possible for the cheapest fares through Virgin Trains website.

If you want to get into the City Centre, you have two options.
My choice would be the Metrolink which will let you see the suburbs up close ar the train, which might be faster, but isn't as nice a ride.

Hi,

Depending what time you land there is either a tram that takes you into the city centre of taxi and I think there's a bus service as well.
Going from Manchester to London the cheapest way is by national express or there is trains but they can be expensive if booked last minute.

Hope that helps.

Hi Pavol. The quickest way to get from the airport to the centre is to get a train. The train station is clearly marked and is straightforward to use. The main train station in the centre is Manchester Piccadilly. From Manchester to London you have a number of options. The quickest option is train, again from Manchester Piccadilly. But make sure you book now as it can be extremely expensive. You can book on www.thetrainline.com. If you don't mind a longer journey, coach or bus can be cheaper. Try www.nationalexpress.com and www.uk.megabus.com. Enjoy Manchester - it is a wonderful city!

Hi Pavol, You can get the train or the Metrolink directly from the airport to the centre of Manchester. If you are going straight to London I would recommend the train to Manchester Piccadilly as that is where you get the train to London from. Trains to London are with Virgin Trains and are every 10-15 minutes and take approximately 2 hours. I strongly advise booking your London train tickets as far in advance as you can.

There are a couple of options for public transport into the centre.

The tram http://www.metrolink.co.uk/airport/Pages/pdf/Metrolink-Airport-Line-Guide.pdf

There is also the train http://www.manchesterairport.co.uk/getting-to-and-from/train

Virgin trains run frequently to London but if you are not in too much of a rush there is the Megabus - https://uk.megabus.com/

Hope this helps.

There are several ways to get to the city center. The most direct way is to take any train heading to picadilly or Victoria Station. Northern and Transpennine are your best bet. You can take the more frequent F tram to cornerbrook and transfer to any line to the city center. Google maps is well-integrated with the train and tram system in Manchester.

Getting to London is not hard. Virgin has direct trains out of Manchester picadilly to London Euston that takes just over 2 hours to arrive. I recommend going to Trainline.com to get the best prices. You can choose to get a confirmation code to pick up your tickets at any kiosk in the county ahead of time too.

Have fun!

A few options for transport from the airport to the city centre. The airport shuttle bus is cheap and only takes 25 minutes, you can sort tickets from the airport website. Another easy option would be getting a train from the airport to Piccadilly station.

To get to London the easiest way is a virgin train from Piccadilly station to London Euston, it is about £40 one way. If you want a cheaper option from £5 a ticket you can get a coach (National Express or Megabus) which takes 4 hours.

Hope this helps, have a good trip

Thank you very much :-)
Trains run at pretty much all hours from Manchester Airport train station to piccadilly train station in the city centre. From there you should be able to get a taxi, bus or even walk to your accommodation.

Thank you for your help I really appreciate it :-)
The easiest way to get from the airport to the city centre is by train. There are regular trains from the airport to Manchester Piccadilly and Oxford Road stations (both are in the city centre). It takes about 15 mins and only costs a couple of pounds.

You could also take a tram (Metrolink) but that is much slower.

Trains to London go from Manchester Piccadilly station. It takes 2hours. Unless you book in advance, the tickets are very expensive.

You can also take a bus. National Express and Megabus both travel to London and they are much cheaper than the train. It takes 5-6 hours.
