It's a great piece of architecture both from the outside and the inside. In the entrance hall there is a nice cafe' where you can have a coffee or a bite. There are also displays about the history of Manchester and its community and you can also access the BFI film archive for free in one of the booth.

It has a amazing quality food for the price and the lamb chops are out of the world. Well in Manchester. Price can get a little high but totally worth it due to its quality. I'd also recommend there dessert sticky toffee pudding which is also really nice. With the main it depends on how hot or mild you like it so I'd recommend asking the staff

On the outskirts of town, this gallery won museum of the year award after a big revamp of the place. There's a Scandinavian style cafe overlooking the park and for families you can pick up free art hampers or join activities in the park

Castlefield Bowl is in the Castlefield part of Manchester city centre. In the summer they have 'Sounds of The City' where lots of artists play. The bowl faces the canals & has outdoor tiered seating, as well as grassy hill banks, where locals like to sit and relax. It's away from the hustle and bustle of the city, and is a lovely little hidden gem.
