Highlights

Get to know the modern history of the Northern Quarter through its street art

Description

Join me and learn about the creation of the Northern Quarter as we know it today, get to know the major names behind some of the area's oldest street art and sculptures, and find out how modern arts and community movements in Manchester hope to continue to drive creativity within the neighbourhood.

We'll also cover future building developments, with a particular focus on those that threaten our most iconic sculptures and ephemera.

You’ll be introduced to the modern history of the area, including Ancoats, and using public artworks as the thread, we’ll weave together a story of social housing, gentrification, greenery, and public space (including the blurring of lines between what’s public and what’s private, and why it matters).

As featured in Incredible Street Arts Tours – The Telegraph and The Manchester Bucket List.

Tours are family friendly and are led by Skyliner, winner of Best Arts and Culture Blog in the UK.
