Only have 8 days in Mauritius, where to stay and what to do?

So guys, as the title suggest, I'm looking for advice on my stay in Mauritius from 8th until 16th of December. I was thinking about splitting the vacation in two 4-days stays in Grand Baie first and Flic en Flac then. Is that a good idea? I thought it would be nice after reading reviews and articles on the internet but asking to locals is always better.
Also, since I won't be staying for that long on the Island, which activities or excursions would you recommend?
Thanks a lot, hoping to get some help!!

Hello Mauro am Lindley from Mauritius.First your idea of staying for 2 different places is very good and you will be able to differentiate the 2 locations. Both places flic en flac and Grand Baie are busy and sunny and have beautiful beaches. Both area are very busy in the morning and afternoon and you will be able to discover 2 different ways of life style.
Always bring cream, sunglasses and hat because you will be staying in a hot region.
concerning a tour,i will advise to do the wild south of Mauritius comprising, the dormant volcano, the sacred lake ,waterfalls, the valley, the seven colored earth etc....You may do the north tour : The botanical garden, sugar world ,the castle of labourdonnais and its surroundings..
Hope that my feedback might help you, feel free to ask more.

Thanks Mauro. I think its your first visit on the island ! if so, better to buy in advance than to go on your own because in December its the high season and tickets shall be booked in advance.
Ok, but should I book online? Or would there be offices and vendors selling group tours and excursions?

Alright Guys, I have looked at the website mentioned above but I have a question that goes out to those who have already had experience with the agency. How does It work with the transfer from and back to the apartment? The website states that It is included but obviously the list of accomodations doesn't include mine. I Will be staying at 1 hour drive from the East coast where the trip starts. What should I do?

This type of transfer is known as an inter-hotel transfer.Normally its around 1 hour trip depending time of departure and ground traffic.
Could you please say what is the name of your accommodation?
Have you already arrange your airport transfer?. Normally it shall be included in one package: i.e, the airport transfer and inter-hotel transfer.
Feel free to talk,am the Director of operations of Tipik Tour a tour Operator in Mauritius
I will rent a car for sure but being picked up and dropped off is always easier, isnt'it? Anyway, at this point I think I'm only gonna book excursions to Rodrigues and Ile aux Cerfs or is there any other Place I better go to on a group tour? I would really appreciate if you could help me making up my mind.
At the moment, my plans for the 4 days at Grand Baie are a trip to those 2 places and then what else?
In Flic en Flac, I think Casela, River Gorges Park and Chamarel would be already enough, dont You think?
