(5 answers)I'm planning a trip to Mauritius. Does anyone know the regulations regarding AirBNB in Maurtius? Do hosts have to get a "Tourist Accommodation Certificate"?

Tourist accommodation in Mauritius must first be approved by the local council and subsequently by the Tourism Authority. The host must have proper insurance cover for the guests.

I'm sorry but the answer from Arnaud is apparently wrong. Anyone offering accommodation "for rent for a period of less than 12 months" has to obtain a "Tourist Accommodation Certificate". See the following communique from the Mauritian Tourist Authority:
