At only 1.5hrs from Melbourne, Queenscliff is well worth a day trip, especially in the summer. This small seaside town makes you feel like you have stepped back in time with its beautiful historical buildings. It can also be included as a stop on a longer drive down to Torquay, Lonsdale, or further along the Great Ocean Road.
Cute shops, cafes and restaurants dot the main street, making it a great place to explore on foot. The Bellarine Scenic Railway is a popular way for visitors to see the area.
For a bit of variety, you take your car on the ferry from Queenscliff over to Portsea, and then drive back to Melbourne via the East side of the bay.
