It's a great way to spend some time at the Colonial Mexico without even having to leave the city. There are lot's of things to buy, great coffee to drink, amazing people, music. It's the real deal when it comes to being in Mexico.

This restaurant is located in the beautiful square of Coyoacán, which is already a very iconic place in Mexico city. The food you can try here is traditional of the state of Oaxaca. This means you can try delicious food, and also drinks!! The mezcal is a traditional liquor from this area, is made out of agave (the same plant as tequila).

This is gotta be one of my favorite coffee shops around town. They make freshly brewed coffee and have some SPECTACULAR croissants.
They change the menu once in a while to try new bread recipes, if you go past 11 am you could be able to get a delicious sandwich or baguette with ham or prosciutto.
My favourite: chocolate tangerine cake.

Comedor Lucerna is one of the coolest places in Mexico, it's located in an up and coming area of the city, the Barrio Juárez. It offers a wide variety of food at reasonable prices. The Comedor Lucerna is the favorite spot of Mexican artists to get together, so it has a hip artistic vibe.

If you think you have tried tacos before, you will learn there that you have not. Cochinita Pibil is a traditional mexican dish (from the Yucatan area) and the best tacos of cochinita (trust me) can be found at El Turix.
Adding onions, a few drops of lemon and hot sauce to the taco is a must: lemon, sauce & onions are there for a good reason lol.

Food is very good. Prices are moderate to the quality served. Try the apple salad called "Waldorf", together with your beef cut and an Argentinian chorizo. Add a strong Cabernet Sauvignon to that... and you'll have a time to remember.

Pastor tacos are sold everywhere but here you can find the real deal: the meat, the marinade is as natural and flavorsome as it can be. The red salsa is to die for.
If you go, make sure you are at the right place: the whole street is packed with taco places. Opens early (11am) but pastor tacos are ready after 6-7 p.m. on.
