Boscoincittà (“Forest in the City”) is the first example of urban reforestation in Italy. Locals love it because it’s the result of a collaboration between citizens and institutions in defence of public parks, which, in Milan’s suburbs, are often invaded by illegal buildings.

One of the goals of Milan’s Centre for Urban Forestation (CFU) is to develop initiatives to improve the relationship between locals and nature. In the park you can cycle, jog, have barbeques and even do a bit of gardening. You can also book a “portico” for private parties, picnics or barbeques on weekends.
To get here, take the MM1 subway to De Angelis, then take bus no. 72 and get off at the final stop.
