Civic Aquarium of Milan9
Why locals love it
The Civic Aquarium of Milan is housed in a beautiful Liberty (Art Nouveau) building at the edge of Sempione Park next to the Civic Arena. It underwent major renovations from 2003 to 2006. The friezes and hand-painted tiles that adorn the building’s façade hint at the treasures within.
Why you should visit it
“Water is a precious and essential asset for life”. Following this motto, the Civic Aquarium of Milan reopened in 2006 with a new section dedicated to the marine world, and another dedicated to fishing.
Free admission for visitors under 18 or over 65 every Tuesday from 2 pm, and on the first Sunday of every month.
