A beautiful place to discover the archaeological findings from the pre-Roman age to the middle ages and the history of the city. There are also an ancient Greek and an Etruscan collection and the museum occasionally hosts temporary exhibitions.
The location is itself worth a visit: in the yard, you can still see pieces of the ancient Roman walls, a tower with frescoes from the 13th century and one of the towers of the Roman circus which was built in this area in the 4th century.
The museum is located near the church of San Maurizio al Monastero Maggiore.
