This art gallery was founded in 1618 near the already existing library by the cardinal Federico Borromeo and shows masterpieces from the cardinal's private collection, copies of famous artworks and much more.
The museum shows paintings from famous artists such as Leonardo da Vinci, Caravaggio, Tiziano or Botticelli. The palace in which the museum stands is a masterpiece by itself with ancient frescoes and a neo-classical yard.
One of the curiosities you can find in the museum is a blond lock of hair of Lucrezia Borgia.
