Living in Milan i came to appreciate it as an old yet modern city. Being a young traveler myself, I usually prefer walking in the city streets, finding the shortest yet most interesting neighborhoods to walk through from one landmark to the other. This walking tour is made for people who appreciate the feel and spirit of a city and enjoy its iconic landmarks as well as their less famous yet equally astonishing surroundings.
The tour starts in Piazza Gae Aulenti, the "new center". From there we walk through the chic corso Como and Moscova, reaching Sforza Castle through the artistic neighborhood of Brera. Once by the castle, the tour makes a small detour in Sempione Park to see the Arco della Pace. Later again, the walk continues to reach Duomo Cathedral, and Galleria Vittorio Emmanuele. From there it would be possible to try some Milanese treats like a Spontini pizza or a Panzerotti from Luini’s. Later the tour continues through the shops of Via Torino to reach the majestic Colonne di San Lorenzo, and the Navigli canals and bars.
This path is relatively fast and allows its takers to see Milano as an artistic, historic, modern and young city.
