Description
The park named Parco delle Cave – the Quarry Park – was previously an industrial area used for quarrying gravel and sand, in the Baggio area. Today it is a haven of peace in the city.
Lake Cabassi has two wooden jetties, and a path with benches positioned at viewpoints, amongst green fields, farm crops, allotments, springs, and long tracks between rows of trees. It is a favourite location for anglers who fish for carp and trout.
The park is in an area where you will see various birds, including some migratory species, such as herons, white wagtails, blackcaps, goldfinches, pheasants, chaffinches, blackbirds and swallows, who have chosen the park as a stopping point in their travels.
