I was in Milan for a company conference. Saturday morning was booked for a guided tour of some art museum and the Duomo. Art is not something that interests me in any way, so I did not expect too much. But, with such an inspired and knowledgeable guide as Giacomo Zavatteri even I truly enjoyed art, the walk in the city and the Duomo.
Book tour and you can't go wrong. My guess is that Giacomo can make almost anything you choose to visit interesting.

The Duomo, our cathedral, is a masterpiece of Medieval architecture and one of the most important religious architectures in the world.
Our Secrets of the Duomo tour is designed for those who want to know every secret of this amazing structure.
First, we’ll head underground to the archaeological area hidden beneath Duomo Square and walk the floor of a church built 1700 years ago by the Romans. Most locals have no idea this area even exists!
Next, we’ll explore the Duomo’s magnificent interiors. You’ll be introduced to the holy relics preserved inside the cathedral as well as the works of art. You’ll also get to know the engineers and architects who worked here and the role of Leonardo da Vinci in the construction.
We’ll then head to the rooftop where you’ll be rewarded with breathtaking views over the city (and, if you’re lucky with the weather, all the way to the Alps!) and close-ups of thousands of spires and decorations. Not to mention an amazing view of the Madonnina, the golden statue on top of the cathedral, which is the symbol of Milan.
