Description

We’ll begin our excursion in the Independence Square — one of the largest squares of Europe, where we begin to explore the legacy of Soviet architecture.

We will explore the center of the city and visit Jewish sites along the way, scattered throughout the city — a former Jewish cemetery, a former choral synagogue, former Jewish profitable houses and schools.
Walking along the Independence Avenue and the central streets, we will find ourselves in the upper city, the historical center of Minsk.

After that, we will go to the Jewish mecca of the city. We stroll through the former Jewish quarter, strewn with synagogues, jewish houses, workshops, schools and so on. Being there, it is impossible not to talk about the period of the Holocaust in the territory of Minsk and Belarus as a whole.

We will find ourselves in the former Minsk ghetto, learn about its peculiarities, and also visit several memorials and hold a moment of remembrance.

At the end of our tour we will walk through the places of modern jewish life in Minsk and learn about what is happening with the jewish life of the city here and now.
